ZoomIt
Zoom into any part of your screen, annotate while zoomed in, and show a break timer for presentations — all with keyboard shortcuts. Ideal for demos, code reviews, and accessibility.
Requirements
- macOS 13 Ventura or later
- Screen Recording permission — required to capture screen content for the zoom overlay.
To grant permission: open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen Recording and enable ProToys.
Zooming
Starting and increasing zoom
Press ⌥⌘= to activate the zoom overlay centered on your current cursor position. Each additional press of the same hotkey increases the zoom level by 0.5×.
Decreasing zoom and exiting
Press ⌥⌘- to decrease the zoom level by 0.5×. If the next step would take the zoom below the minimum level, the overlay exits entirely and your screen returns to normal.
While the zoom overlay is active you can draw and annotate directly on the magnified view — useful for highlighting code or diagram elements during a presentation.
Break Timer
Press ⌥⌘B to show or hide the break timer panel. The break timer displays a countdown and is designed for use during presentations to signal audience breaks. Press the same hotkey again to dismiss it.
