Terms of Service.

The rules for using ProToys. We've kept these as short and plain as we could.

Your license

When you buy ProToys, you get a lifetime license for personal use on Macs you own. You can install and use ProToys on as many of your own Macs as you like.

The license is for one person. Don't share your license key — if you want to gift ProToys to a friend, buy them a separate license.

You don't own the source code or the app itself. You own the right to use it, on the terms below.

The free trial

Before you buy, ProToys gives you 15 free uses of any paid feature so you can try the app on real work. After that, ProToys shows a paywall and you'll need a license to keep using paid features.

The trial counter is stored in your macOS Keychain.

What you can do

Use ProToys for whatever you want — personal projects, work, freelancing, building things for clients, recording videos, presentations.

Talk about it, share screenshots, write reviews. We love that.

Take advantage of the creator discount if you make a Reel and hit the view targets.

What you can't do

Don't share, sell, sublicense, or publish your license key.

Don't reverse-engineer, decompile, or modify the app to bypass the license check.

Don't redistribute the app itself, repackage it as your own, or include it in another product without written permission.

Don't use ProToys to do anything illegal or to harm other people's computers, accounts, or data.

Updates

Your lifetime license includes future updates to ProToys at no extra cost. We add features, fix bugs, and adapt to new versions of macOS as they ship. There's no separate "v2 upgrade fee."

That said, if we ever release a substantially different product (a new app rather than an update), it may have its own pricing.

No warranty

ProToys is provided "as is." We do our best to make it stable and useful, and we test it before each release, but we can't promise it will work perfectly with every Mac, every macOS version, and every other app you have installed.

If something's broken, tell us — we want to know — but we can't guarantee a fix on any particular timeline.

Limit on liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, our total liability for anything related to ProToys is limited to what you paid for it. We're not responsible for indirect or consequential damages — lost work, lost data, lost time, lost profits, or anything else that could indirectly result from using or being unable to use the app.

Always keep backups of important work. ProToys doesn't touch your files outside the explicit actions you take (renames, resizes, etc.), but every Mac app fits inside the same general advice.

Termination

You can stop using ProToys at any time — just quit and uninstall.

We can revoke a license if it's used to violate these terms (sharing keys, reverse-engineering, etc.). We'll email you first if we believe that's happening.

Changes to these terms

If we update these terms, the "Last updated" date at the top changes. We'll announce material changes on the homepage. Continuing to use ProToys after that date means you accept the new terms.
